In Raleigh, it’s all too common for older homes to be knocked down and larger homes built in their place. When it came time to gain more space for their growing family, our clients chose to take the path less traveled for their 1960s ranch.
A full-scale gut renovation and second floor addition resulted in a home that is unrecognizable from its humble beginnings, but blends seamlessly into its neighborhood and honors Southern architectural tradition.
Brought onto the team early, we guided our clients through architectural review, construction selections & administration, followed by full-service interior design for the newly built spaces.
The collaboration with our client, a kindred spirit with a love of collecting and appreciation for textiles and wallcoverings rivaling our own, made for a project near and dear to our hearts.
Our favorite elements include: a welcoming entry with painted floors and grid of antique Audubon engravings, an organic plate wall installation meant to mimic a flowering vine, and a paint schedule that includes no less than 10 shades of green paint.
